Orpington Chickens

In 2018 I brought home my first chickens, Orpingtons, from Rural King. Those precious little peeps stole my heart. I stared at them for countless hours every day observing them changing drastically. Those adorable 6 chicks started out scared, huddled into a ball buried to the underside of the heat lamp, in the back corner of our first chicken coop. Soon, they began to eat out of our hands, perch on our shoulders, and tirelessly beat their wings together in an attempt to fly. We eventually built them a nice chicken run in our small urban backyard and added a chicken perch and chicken swing. Friends and family enjoyed coming over to visit the chickens or to observe them from our backyard setting area. Little did we know a few months later, our prayers would be answered with our dream farm! Those 6 little chicks grew up and expanded our little flock quickly after moving to our farm.
